Start with the business
Before anything else, we want to understand what you do, who you serve, what makes you different – and what you like and dislike about the website you have now.
Send over anything you already have: branding, imagery, copy, examples of websites you like, rough ideas. All of it helps, but none of it is required.
If you're not sure exactly what the website needs yet, that's completely fine. Helping work that out is part of our job.

Work out what the website needs
From there, we'll work out the shape of the website – what pages it needs, what belongs on them, what your visitors need to find and where you want them to go next.
Getting that right at the beginning gives everything that follows a purpose, rather than designing pages simply because they're expected to be there.

Start with the homepage
The homepage sets the direction for everything else: the design, imagery, typography, messaging and overall feel of the website.
That's where we'll start. You'll see the direction taking shape early and have plenty of opportunity to tell us what feels right, what doesn't and anything you'd like to explore differently.
It's usually the point where the new website starts to feel real.

Bring the rest together
Once the direction feels right, we'll carry it through the rest of the website.
The remaining pages take shape, content finds its place, imagery is prepared, forms are set up and everything is carefully considered across phones, tablets and desktops.
Bit by bit, it becomes a complete website that feels consistent from beginning to end.

Refine the details
Once everything is in place, you'll have time to properly explore the website and send through your thoughts.
We'll work through anything you'd like adjusting – wording, imagery, layouts, details or ideas that have come up along the way – until you're happy with where we've landed.
We care about the details too, so don't be afraid to mention them.

Get everything ready to launch
When everything feels right, we'll take care of getting it live.
That includes all the less-visible work around hosting, domains, redirects, analytics, security and the final checks that make sure everything is working as it should.
You won't need to worry about any of that – we'll handle it and keep you updated along the way.
And we're still here afterwards.
Launch isn't the end of anything – it's the point where your website starts working for you, and where plenty of websites start being neglected.

Do I need everything ready before we start?
No. Bring whatever you have – even rough notes – and we’ll work the rest out together. Waiting until everything feels ready is the most common reason websites never happen.
How do we work together day to day?
Whatever suits you. Email works well, a call is sometimes quicker, and most projects end up being a comfortable mix of the two.
How involved will I be?
As involved as you’d like to be. You’ll always see the direction early and have every opportunity to shape things – we just make sure it never turns into project management for you.
What if I don't like the design?
We keep working on it. Starting with the homepage means the direction gets settled early, while changing course is still easy.
What happens to my current website?
It stays live and untouched while the new one takes shape. When we switch over, redirects are in place from the first minute so nothing is lost.
What if my business changes later?
